Newsflash
Welcome to my website.  I've rammed this thing full of almost everything I could about me (no - you don't get to know my shoe OR pants sizes). As the months pass, I hope to continue to add spiffy new photos, sound bytes and video. I do have my calender up and running so see where I'll be at anytime of the year (as long as I remember to enter it in...) and I will continue to add little updates just to say hey. I'm here. And I can blather on too. Enjoy!

Hi all! The summer is over and so is my work on my masters. After two long years of study, I've finally finished a Masters in Plays and Scripts at City University. Even more exciting than that, is the premiere of the first feature film I wrote, The Last Thakur, at the London Film Festival. See below for more details. For those looking for a workshop in creative writing, performance or corporate training, please contact me on info@heathertaylor.co.uk or find out more about what I do in the corporate sector through Red on Black Corporate.

The Blurb:
UK film-maker Sadik Ahmed directs this intense contemporary Western, which takes place in a remote town in the marshlands of Bangladesh. A mysterious young man, Kala, arrives armed with a rifle. He immediately creates a stir in the small town and especially attracts the attention of two rival leaders: the ruthless and powerful Chairman who runs the place and purports to represent his people and the one man that stands in his way: the local Thakur, one of the last Hindu landlords, who is manically re-claiming all the surrounding land for which loans remain un-paid in order to build a temple.

Walking into the middle of this bitter feud, Kala soon finds himself approached by both men to take their side. Broke and hungry, Kala begins to bargain with them, but he is here on his own mission, to find the man that raped and killed his mother and take his revenge. Some of Bangladesh's finest theatre performers offer great performances. Ahmed's training as a cinematographer is clearly evident in the bold picturisation of haunting landscapes and hollow-face-men with murder on their minds.

OTHER INFO:
*Cowboy Stories/ Thoughts wanted

What's a modern cowboy? Do you consider yourself a one? Do you follow the cowboy code but don't look like a stereotypical cowboy? Have you fantasized about the romance of the cowboy culture or would you rather never see another pair of cowboy boots or hat again?

I am an Albertan writer/ performer looking for stories - your own or other people's - that have to do with your experience and thoughts on cowboys. Do we need to go back to the old cowboy ways? And why has there been a surge of more westerns in the cinema?

I'm looking to do a creative project around the idea of the modern cowboy and the cowboy code and would like to interview people over the next year to find out more of your thoughts. But before I can interview anyone, I need to know who has some good stories to tell! So please message me or add your stories below. If you know of any good links or podcasts or people I should contact, I'd appriciate your help!

Be great if you could help me out - whether it's about music, culture, stereotypes, ideas, loves, fears - I'd love to hear it all! You can add your ideas to my facebook page or e-mail me.

*MYSPACE
I've set up a new myspace page with a few clips of my poems and a recent podcast of my prose poetry sequence "How does it feel to be loved?" Click here to have a listen and add me as your friend to keep up-to-date with my upcoming shows & events.
